Day 2: March 22, 2024
Yay!! Everyone arrived safely after a long flight... which landed almost an hour early! We met up in arrivals and had time for a quick coffee while we waited for the coach to arrive. Turns out the weather was extremely kind to us with beautiful blue skies but a chill wind.
We were dropped in the city by Mark our coach driver and Emma took us on a orientation walk from Trinity College to Temple Bar, over the Liffey river and back across O Connell Bridge back to Grafton Street. It was still fairly early and lots of shops were still closed as Dublin doesn't really wake up till around !0am, so we meandered down to Stephens Green shopping Centre and park for some more refreshments.
By 10 the museums were open so we visited the National museum of Archeology with it's Bog men and Celtic gold hoards.
After a break for lunch we headed back to the coach and out to our hotel for a well deserved couple of hours rest.
We headed back into Dublin in the afternoon for a bit more shopping down near the Millenium spire (Stiletto in the Ghetto) and then on to dinner in the Belvedere hotel... a delicious beef stew followed by Baileys cheesecake.
Finally we returned to our hotel, very tired but having had a busy jam packed day.
