From our rigorous safety checks and detailed site visits to our continual safety training, we take every possible precaution to ensure a safe and worry-free tour for all participants.
WorldStrides’ decades-long safety record is unmatched, and we’re proud to bring you access to their in-house Health and Safety team as well as the cross-functional Back to Travel Task Force, a group that works behind the scenes to establish industry-leading safety measures that help you travel with confidence in any environment. Our team receives guidance from the Government of Canada, World Health Organization (WHO), The George Washington Department of Emergency Medicine, and other experts in the field. We also work closely with organizations like Exlog-Global to stay up-to-the-minute on world events, and can utilize their extensive resources to respond in a serious situation.

Our partnership with WorldStrides means that we are part of a family that gives 400,000 students from more than 5,000 K-12 schools and universities the opportunity each year to connect with their education in new and meaningful ways around the globe. We operate out of 70 operation centres on six continents, meaning wherever you travel, we’ll be able to support you.
While on tour, an expert Tour Director who's fluent in your tour destinations' languages and customs will be with your group every step of the way, offering constant and immediate guidance. For any immediate problems you may encounter, our dedicated Emergency Contact Line is always ready to provide assistance.
Coverage that counts
Explorica’s liability insurance is the largest in the industry—this policy extends coverage to the program leader and chaperones, and can be extended to the school or school board in certain circumstances. As a member of TICO, Explorica has committed to abide by the ethical codes for business, and Explorica travellers are protected by TICO’s Compensation Fund, which provides reimbursement of monies paid in the unlikely event of Explorica’s bankruptcy or insolvency.
Cancel for any reason
No one wants to think about having to cancel their trip, but sometimes life happens. That’s why we give your students the option to protect their investment with our trusted travel protection plan plus that provides a cash refund—not just credit for a future trip like other companies provide.
Our plan covers baggage loss, misplaced tickets or passports, and sickness or injury during the tour. It also provides total peace of mind by allowing the traveller to cancel their tour for any reason more than two (2) days before departure. Travellers will be reimbursed for 75% of the non-refundable cancellation fees which apply to the trip.
Get comfortable
We help program leaders prepare for their first tour with a New Program Leader Training trip! This program is designed to make program leaders more comfortable by meeting other teachers who love to travel, getting insider tips from Explorica staff, and learning from a veteran Program Leader on how to be successful when leading student tours abroad. In addition to the training trip, Explorica has a Teacher to Teacher (T2T) mentor program which provides the opportunity to join a vibrant community and connect with teachers from across the country who share a passion for education and belief that travel is an invaluable life experience.
