At Explorica, we believe all students should have the opportunity to experience the world. We are constantly seeking new ways to make our tours more affordable, so you can extend the travel opportunity to more of your students. Here are a few of the ways we are working to make educational travel accessible for all families:
Guaranteed best prices
We leverage our long-standing relationships with airlines, hotels and attractions to negotiate better prices. Then, we give you a personal travel planning consultant to help you choose the best tour and tour options for your budget. We don’t make you pay for things you don’t need, and if you happen to find a lower price for the same tour components, we’ll beat it.
Financial assistance
Through the WorldStrides Canada Financial Assistance Program, elementary or secondary school students with financial limitations can receive additional funds to participate in our programs. Strong candidates include those who have undergone family financial hardships, identify as a member of an underrepresented group, or possess a disability. Individuals travelling on a coach tour could receive up to $250, and those travelling on a flight tour could receive up to $1,000. Funds will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
To be considered for financial assistance, the participant’s school must submit an application through our confidential application process. Interested families should speak with their school. Educators, please reach out to your Tour Consultant for more information.
Personal fundraising pages
Most groups engage in some form of fundraising activity, and our new personal fundraising pages make it even easier. All paying participants are now provided their very own page on explorica.ca, which allows them to solicit and accept online donations towards their tour.
Additional fundraising resources
We also provide expert fundraising advice through our teacher mentor program, in which veteran Group Leaders share tips and ideas based on their own experience. You can learn what works from people who know through a live webinar and a handy info packet. See our fundraising page for more details.
Student travel grants
In addition to our guaranteed best prices we also offer student travel grants throughout the year. These support funds can help make travel even more accessible for your students. Visit our deals and promos page or call your Explorica program consultant to learn more.
Low monthly payments
Our monthly payment plan lets participants enrol on tour for $50, then spread out their tour fee across the months leading up to their trip. With this option, depending on the cost of your tour and how early the participant enrols, payments can be as low as $149/month. Learn more about this and other payment options on our FAQ page.
