D-Day Netherlands and France

March 9, 2017  -  March 18, 2017

Bonjour! We had a long and interesting day around Ypres. During the First World War, Ypres was the centre of Battles of Ypres between German and Allied forces. As everyone had studied those battles at school and knows the importance of them to Canadians, it was a good chance to see all the places for real. We started the day by going to the Talbot House, a club that provided rest and recreation to all soldiers coming in, regardless of their rank during these battles of Ypres. After lunch in Ypres, we continued our educative day at the Passchendaele Museum and visited the largest Commonwealth War cemetery in the world. Good night! Cris
