Ciao! We drove from Florence to Roma. On our way we stopped in Assisi which was the birthplace of St. Francis, who founded the Franciscan religious order. In Assisi we visited the Basilica of San Francesco d'Assisi which is a basilica composed of two parts, a lower and an upper church. Both are decorated with amazing frescoes by the late-medieval artists Cimabue and Giotto and the upper one by a huge collection of medieval stained glass windows. We had lunch in Assisi. Some of us tried the famous porchetta sandwich, which is typical of Umbria region. In the afternoon we arrived in Rome and saw the Trevi fountain and the Spanish steps.
