Paris, the South of France & Italy

Hello! We woke up really early in the morning and had to say bye bye to Paris and take the TGV. TGV is short for train a grande vitesse, fast speed train, the fastest train in the world. This train took us very quickly from Paris to the south of France. By 11 o'clock we were already in Avignon, a beautiful Provence town. Avignon is known for being the city of Popes. In the 1300s the Pope moved from Vatican to Avignon. During almost one century 9 popes lived there and they built an enormous palace - le Palais des Papes. We walked around in Avignon and had lunch there. In the afternoon we drove to the Pont du Gard. A 2000 year old aqueduct. We visited the museum to understand how and why it was built and then had time to go for a swim in this incredible scenery. Cris
