Day 2: June 25, 2010
Everyone arrrived safely in London this morning! After landing we headed to the hotel in the Newbury Park area to check in and freshen up from the journey. Once we were all united, we we set off on our first adventure, a ride on the tube or underground downtown. Our destination, Picadilly Circus, a lively meeting place which is like Times Square in New York . Next we headed on to Leicester Square in the heart of London's west end - this is the home of the big movie theatres and premieres.Then we headed to Trafalgar Square which celebrates the naval victory of Nelson at the battle of Trafalgar in 1805. This was an opportunity for some photos down towards Whitehall and Big Ben. We continued our city walk along the Embankment beside the River Thames along to Fleet Street for our fish and chips supper at a historic pub - Ye Olde Cocke Tavern. Exhausted from all the travelling it was back to the hotel to catch up on some much needed sleep. We can't wait to explore more of London tomorrow!
