Breakfast in Belgium, dinner in France.
A busy day with a seamless border crossing. After a nice breakfast at the hotel, we drove to the charming little town of Bruges in the Flemish speaking part of Belgium, with its waterways, belfry and churches. We wandered around the market in the main square, and sampled chocolates and waffles.
Then it was the long drive down to Paris, where we quickly checked into the hotel before jumping onto the métro/subway and headed into the town centre. We walked across the island to have dinner in the Latin Quarter, then did a walking tour to see the outside of Notre Dame, crossed to the second island for some ice cream, back across the Seine to City Hall and caught the subway to the hotel.
We got a great view of the Arc de Triomphe in the distance as we exited the subway.
