A very long wait at Brussels airport for the first 3 flights, but flight 4 sailed through easily, so we all met up almost at the same time. Our Slovenian driver Mijka met us in the bus park, and we drove to the Atomium for a quick photo stop. Then we headed into Brussels centre. We visited the Flemish Gothic cathedral Sts Michael and Gudula, then the Galeries Royales. We then split up for free time to have lunch and souvenir shopping. The chocolate shops were a big hit. We then met up again to visit the Manneken Pis, the most famous statue in Brussels. We wandered around the old streets, saw the smallest house in Brussels and visited St Nicholas Church, the old market church. An early dinner in the Market Square of local food (sausages and vegetable mash, then a Brussels waffle) and it was back on the bus to crash at the hotel. A long and tiring day, but Brussels ticked off the list!
