London, the Countryside & Edinburgh

We got up, had our breakfast, loaded the coach, with our luggage and headed northwards towards York. The weather was bright and sunny as we arrived in the city, which dates from when the Romans occupied England. We walked past York Minster, then turned down the oldest street in York, Stonegate and then on to The Shambles, where, in medieval times, the butchers of the city, slaughtered and sold their meat products. We had time to find some thing for lunch as well as explore the walled city before our visit to York Minster. Some climbed the stairs, on to the roof, for a clear view of the city. We them all met up to head to our hotel. Tomorrow, we visit Alnwick Castle and then head over the border to Edinburgh.
