April 11, 2019  -  April 20, 2019

We got up and after breakfast, we loaded our coach and headed westwards to the county of Somerset, and it’s main city of Bath. We were in good tome for our visit to The Roman Baths. Some even tried a taste of the waters, supposedly a good purge. We then met our local expert, Tony. He showed us the Royal Crescent, The Circus and The Assembly Rooms ( the haunt of Jane Austen ). We had some time to grab some lunch and do some souvenir shopping, We then headed northwards to Oxford, the city of spires and steeples. We went for our visit to Christ Church college. We then walked through Christ Church Green and on to Radcliffe Square, dominated by the imposing Radcliffe Camera. We saw the Bodelian library, the Clarendon building and the Sheldonian theatre. We had some free time in the city, to buy our Oxford hoodies and sweatshirts, before heading to our hotel. Tomorrow is a visit to Stratford upon Avon, William Shakespeare’s birthplace and a visit to Warwick castle.
