Girl Scouts: London & Paris

It's Day 1 in London and all the groups arrive safely to Heathrow Airport! After checking into our hotel, we took the underground railway into central London. We stopped in Covent Garden for lunch and explored the former historic fruit and vegetable market. Today, Covent Garden is a popular shopping and tourist destination, with many independent shops, restaurants and cafés. It is also a great place to see entertaining street performers around the main square. After lunch, while part of the group went to see the fun musical Mamma Mia!, the rest of the group walked to Trafalgar Square to visit the National Gallery. Here, the group could see paintings by some of the world's most famous artists, including Vincent Van Gogh, Leonardo Da Vinci, Claude Monet and Michelangelo. After the museum, the group had a walking tour of some of London's most famous iconic sites, including Piccadilly Circus, Leicester Square and Chinatown. For dinner, we had a traditional meal of English fish & chips in London's trendy Soho district. Then, back to the hotel for some well-deserved rest. Tomorrow the adventure continues...
