Day 3: June 4, 2025
Everyone was a little brighter today and the tour of London with our lovely very English guide, Corinna, was thankfully mostly on the coach. Corinna's incredible knowledge was set off by her extraordinary witt A great start today. Then, at the Tower of London, scene of many executions, Sam, the torturer in chief, took over with the foot pumping itinerary.!!
we left the coach at the Tower of London and Tower Bridge and walk along Thameside to London Bridge which we crossed to have lunch at the amazing Borough (buh-ruh) Market. Back on the Tube to Westminster where we saw BIG Ben - really Elizabeth Tower - and various statues, including honest Abe! The highlight was getting to Horse Guards in time to see then knocking off for the day at 4pm a fun little ceremony but they are real soldiers - the US Marine Corps do the same at the White House (without the swords and horses it's true).
Leicester (Lester) Square for Lego, M&Ms and top quality (!) souvenirs before a double tube trip to The Albert pub for dinner (Cheese and bacon burger and chocolate fudge torte. Not together!).
Double tube back to the hotel.
On the tube we have now been on the Piccadilly line, The Jubilee line, The Northern line, the District Line and the Circle Line
Another full day!!
