Day 5: February 19, 2025
We set off early from Madrid, watching the city fade into the distance as our bus journeyed toward Barcelona. A few hours into the drive, we arrived in Zaragoza, where our main stop was the magnificent Basilica del Pilar. Inside, the grandeur of the domes and frescoes was breathtaking, especially the artwork by Goya. One of the most striking moments was seeing the bombs that had been dropped on the basilica during the Spanish Civil War—a powerful reminder of history, as they miraculously failed to explode.
After some time exploring and a quick stop to grab something to eat, we continued our journey to Barcelona. Upon arrival, we headed straight to the Olympic Port, a perfect setting for dinner. The evening was filled with good conversation and the sounds of the Mediterranean before we finally made our way to the hotel for a well-deserved rest.
