29/06 From Estepona to Lisbon
We hit the road early this morning, saying goodbye to the sunny coast of Estepona and heading westward toward our next destination: Portugal!
But before arriving, we made a fascinating stop mid-morning at Itálica, the ruins of a Roman city near Seville. Wandering among ancient streets, amphitheaters, and mosaics, it was easy to imagine what life might’ve looked like nearly two millennia ago.
After exploring Itálica, we grabbed lunch and then continued the journey into Portugal.
During the bus ride, we got a light introduction to the country, its culture, history, and of course, a few basics of the Portuguese language. From “Olá” to “obrigado,” we’re just getting started!
By the afternoon, we arrived in Lisbon, where the city’s charm was immediately apparent. After settling into our hotel, we didn’t go far for dinner. We found a nearby spot and enjoyed a delicious traditional Portuguese fish dish, a perfect way to begin our stay in Lisbon.
