Day 4: June 23, 2025
23/06 – Travel Day!
After one last round at our beloved breakfast buffet, we checked out and waved adéu to beautiful Barcelona.
The morning bus ride was relaxing, completed with a fun snack stop discovering the Aquarius drink, and a quick history dive into how and when Spain became a unified country.
How many Autonomous Communities are there again? That’s right—17!
Our lunch stop was in Zaragoza, the vibrant capital of Aragón—making it our second Autonomous Community after Catalunya! There, we explored the stunning Basilica of El Pilar. As for souvenir hunting, the Sabores de España store was wildly popular with our group.
Back on the road, we headed towards Madrid, checking off our third Autonomous Community. As we rolled into the capital, we caught a sneak peek of the Royal Palace, one of tomorrow’s big stops.
Dinner was a total win: a tapas feast featuring tortilla de patata, jamón serrano, crispy calamares, sizzling chistorra… and the crowd favorite? The legendary pimientos de padrón.
We ended the day at our hotel, winding down with mini-chats about Iron Maiden and tanning in Barcelona. Time to catch some sleep.
¡Hasta mañana!
