France & Germany

After a delicious breakfast at the hotel, we headed to Colmar, a beautiful village south of Strasbourg, known for it's canals, flower displays and being the birthplace of sculptor Frédéric August Bartholdi, whose most famous work is of course the Statue of Liberty - given by France to America in 1884. We took a scenic walk into the centre, via four of his other works, before taking some free time to explore the covered market and surrounding streets and attractions, all while basking in some warm and beautiful spring sunshine! We're now heading to Four à Chaux fort, to learn all about the Maginot Line defences during a huided-tour with two expert guides. Dinner tonight will be back in Strasbourg: on the menu is pepper and goat's cheese pasta. It'll then be back to the hotel for some chill time ahead of another bust day tomorrow.
