Day 5: July 14, 2023
14 July, France's national holiday. A short sightseeing tour in Paris (with most of it blocked off for the military parade), then we watched the military flypast, before heading out to the opulence of the Château of Versailles, starting with a picnic in the gardens.
On our return to Paris, we drover round the Arc de Triomphe, then down the Champs-Elysées all decorated for the morning military parade, then round Place de la Concorde before heading to St Germain des Prés.
A leisurely stroll up to Montparnasse, where we had dinner in a typical Breton crêperie before heading back to the hotel.
