Day 9: March 15, 2025
Our day in Rome began with a walking tour through the heart of the city. The streets were buzzing with life, and every corner seemed to hide a piece of history. Our first stop was the Spanish Steps, where we took a moment to sit and take in the view before heading to one of the most famous spots in the world—the Trevi Fountain. Tossing a coin over our shoulders, we all made wishes, hoping for a future return to this incredible city.
Next, we visited the Pantheon, a masterpiece of ancient engineering. Standing beneath its massive dome, we marveled at how such an incredible structure had stood the test of time. Then, we walked to Piazza Navona, where street artists and lively cafés surrounded the stunning fountains. It was the perfect place to soak in the atmosphere before lunch.
After a delicious Italian meal, we met our local guide for the afternoon. Walking into the Colosseum, we couldn’t help but be amazed at its sheer size and history. Imagining the gladiator battles that once took place here made it all the more thrilling. From there, we explored the Roman Forum, wandering through the ruins of temples, arches, and ancient streets that once formed the center of Roman life.
With some free time in the late afternoon, we strolled through the city, picking up souvenirs and enjoying gelato. As the sun began to set, we gathered for dinner at a traditional trattoria, ending the day in true Roman style.
Walking back through the city, we couldn’t stop talking about everything we had seen. Rome had left its mark on us, and we knew this was a day we’d never forget.
