Day 8: March 14, 2025
The bus ride to Rome was filled with excitement—today, we were heading to one of the most iconic places in the world. As we arrived at the Vatican Museums, our three guides, Luca, Lety, and Carla, greeted us with enthusiasm, ready to take us on an unforgettable journey through history and art.
Walking through the museums felt like stepping into a treasure trove. Every room was filled with masterpieces, from ancient sculptures to intricate tapestries. The highlight, of course, was the Sistine Chapel. As we stood in silence, looking up at Michelangelo’s breathtaking ceiling, it was impossible not to feel moved by the sheer beauty and detail of his work.
Next, we entered St. Peter’s Basilica, an architectural wonder that left us speechless. The immense space, the golden light filtering through the windows, the grandeur of Michelangelo’s Pietà—everything was awe-inspiring. Our guides shared fascinating stories, making us appreciate every detail even more.
After the tour, we had some free time to explore the Vatican’s souvenir shops. Rosaries, postcards, medals, and little statues of saints filled our bags as we searched for the perfect keepsakes.
Dinner was a relaxed affair, filled with laughter and delicious pasta. But the night wasn’t over yet. We took a walk through Rome’s illuminated streets, passing by stunning fountains and historic piazzas that seemed even more magical under the city lights.
By the time we arrived at our hotel, exhaustion had set in, but so had the realization that today had been something truly special.
