Waking up in Nice to the sound of rain tapping against the windows wasn’t exactly what we had imagined, but it gave the city a different kind of charm. Breakfast was cozy—warm pastries, fresh juice, and sleepy conversations about the day ahead. With umbrellas in hand, we loaded onto the bus, ready for our journey to Italy. The ride along the Italian Riviera was still breathtaking despite the misty skies. The sea, a deep gray-blue, stretched endlessly beside us, with small villages dotting the coastline. Some of us dozed off to the rhythm of the rain, while others played games or watched the scenery shift outside. Arriving in Pisa, we stepped into Piazza dei Miracoli, where the wet marble glistened under the drizzle. The Leaning Tower looked even more surreal against the cloudy sky, and of course, we all attempted the classic "holding it up" pose—umbrellas included. The Baptistery was peaceful, its domed ceiling amplifying even the softest sounds, and the Duomo was simply breathtaking, with golden mosaics glowing despite the gray weather. By evening, we reached Vinci, a small town filled with charm and history. Our hotel was welcoming, and after dropping off our bags, we headed to a little local pizzeria. The moment the first slice of hot, wood-fired pizza hit our tables, the rain was completely forgotten. Laughter and conversation filled the cozy space as we enjoyed what was easily the best meal of the trip so far. A rainy day turned into a perfect one—Italy already felt like magic.
