Waking up in Vinci felt like waking up in history, surrounded by rolling hills and quiet streets. Breakfast at the hotel was simple but satisfying—fresh bread, jam, and strong Italian coffee to get us ready for the day. Today we head toward Florence, the heart of the Renaissance. The city welcomed us with its grand piazzas, narrow streets, and the energy of people everywhere. Our local guide led us through its most famous landmarks, each one more impressive than the last. The Duomo stood in front of us in all its majesty, its marble facade intricate and breathtaking. We admired Ponte Vecchio, with its tiny jewelry shops balancing over the river, and stopped in Piazza della Signoria, surrounded by statues that seemed frozen in time. The history, the art, the sheer beauty of Florence—it was overwhelming in the best way. By lunchtime, we left the city behind for Tenuta Torciano, a vineyard in the Tuscan countryside. The rolling hills stretched for miles, and the air smelled of fresh grapes and olive trees. We enjoyed a traditional meal, tasting different wines, fresh pasta, and rich cheeses while learning about the winemaking process. It felt like something out of a movie. Back in Florence, we had free time to explore on our own. Some of us hunted for leather goods in small boutiques, others picked up souvenirs, and a few just wandered, taking in the city’s magic. As the sun set, we gathered in a charming trattoria, where plates of pasta, hearty stews, and warm laughter filled the evening. Walking back through Florence at night, with the streets glowing under the soft lights, we knew this was a day we’d never forget.
