Day 7 in Japan: Super express Shinkansen to Hiroshima and a half-day sightseeing in Hiroshima by tour bus. We enjoyed a one-and-a-half-hour train journey by Shinkansen bullet train from Shin-Osaka to Hiroshima. The speed is 170 miles per hour. We saw Hiroshima Castle, also known as Carp Castle, from the bus windows. We visited Shukkeien Garden, a Feudal lord’s typical strolling-type garden in the Edo period. There are ponds, islands, and tea ceremony houses. We visited the Peace Memorial Museum, Park, and A-Bomb Dome. On Aug.6th, 1945, the uranium bomb called Little Boy killed 140,000 out of 350,000 Hiroshima people. This Peace Park was established at Ground Zero of the explosion. It's a sacred place. We went to a Japanese Izakaya restaurant to enjoy grilled Japanese beef and vegetables. Sleep well.
