Day 21: July 7, 2024
We started this morning breaking off into two groups: the early birds headed straight for the beach and soaked up the sun before meeting the rest of us after lunch. The area we were in was La Ramblas — the most well-known street in the city.
We then hopped on the bus and met Fran, our local Catalan guide for the afternoon. Our first stop was Montjuïc, which is where the 1992 Olympic Games were held. What amazing views of Barcelona here! We continued to Park Guell, where Fran walked us around and explained to us about Gaudí and his work. We also drove through Paseo the Gràcia, one of the wealthiest avenues in the city with two buildings designed by Gaudí, La Pedrera and Casa Batlló.
Not too far was our last stop, the spectacular Sagrada Familia. This is Gaudi’s masterpiece and the most iconic building in Barcelona. With loads of information, we said “adéu” to Fran and made our way to dinner. We can never say no to more tapas (especially when croquettes are being served!)
It’s hard to believe tomorrow is our last full day. Let’s make the most of it!
