Canal you believe we visited Venice today?
We drove over to the port this morning and met Davide, our sailor. We headed to Murano Island to visit a typical glass blowing factory. It was incredible to see how they manouver incandescent glass!
From there, we got back on the boat and headed to San Marco where after a short walk we met Michele and Daniela, our local guides in Venice. They showed us the Doge’s palace and from there we all had free time in Venice. We also had the opportunity to take a gondola ride — what a relaxing adventure to see Venice from a different perspective. Some of us even saw a proposal (she said YES!)
At 5 PM, we waddled through some flooding (this is called acqua alta and happens about 100 times a year) to take the water taxi back to Punta Sabbioni.
We had an early dinner and then everyone went to the beach! A few of us dipped into the Adriatic Sea — what a relaxing evening.
