Goodbye Germany, hello Austria and Italy! After breakfast, we loaded the bus and greeted Liviu, our bus driver for the next half of our trip! We stopped for lunch and free time in the city of Innsbruck, the capital of Austria’s western state of Tyrol. It’s a very popular destination for winter sports but is worth a visit anytime during the year. We walked to the main square and from there we awed at the Goldenes Dachl (The golden roof). It is considered the city’s most famous landmark. The building was constructed in 1420 as the residence of the Tyrolean sovereigns and in 1500 Maximilian I added the 2738 copper tiles. From here they used to watch all the entertainment happening in the square. We also had the opportunity to visit the Swarovski world. We wandered around the city for a couple of hours before we headed towards Venice. We stopped a couple of times to stretch our legs, use the rest rooms and grab something to eat and then we finally reached the hotel. We are staying near Punta Sabbioni which is just steps from the beach.
