Day 2: February 2, 2018
Bonjour!
Day 2 in Quebec city was, as expected, cold. However, everyone made it through without any complaints. It was a very tiring day! We started with breakfast in Upper Town, then a quick cash exchange stop before heading to the Musee du First to hear about all of Quebec's military history. Two students (and one teacher) got the highest score on the quiz at the end and won a souvenir.
Next, we headed down the BreakNeck Stairs to Lower Town for some free time and a fondue lunch, before using the Funicular (a giant outdoor elevator) to go back up to Upper Town. We had some free time for Carnaval where we saw ice sculptures, rode a mechanical moose, and visited Bonhomme's ice palace! Not to mention, there were some Beavertails and hot chocolate bought and enjoyed. Classic Carnavale fare!
We finished off the day with a visit to Village Valcartier and a tour of the ice hotel, as well as some snow tubing at night! We had a blast, but boy was it cold! Now home to the hotel to warm up and rest up for a great day tomorrow!
A bientôt!
