Mrs. Watson's Swiss Highlights

April 11, 2025  -  April 18, 2025

We started the day by going back to Geneva and seeing the Red Cross museum. There were many amazing exhibits - and the Falcons did extremely well by cooperating and working together and wisely to save 110 people in a hurricane simulation. The other part of the museum where there was an exhibition about the sound of emotion perplexed and amazed everyone in the group. Specifically, many of the girls explored the sounds of 12 emotions in an almost coven-like trance. From there we travelled to lunch in Laussanne. Someone was working some magic as a day that should have been dreary and sodden was bright, brilliant, and sunny. Lac Leman shone in the midday sun as we made our merry way around it, huge white mountains glistening on the French side of the lake. Many a lovely lunch was had in Laussanne as everyone soaked up the atmosphere of this picturesque lake-side town. Then onwards to Gruyeres and the fascinating cheese museum - led by the simple but friendly Cherry the cow, we were shown the whole process of making Gruyere, along with many interesting aromas of the plants the cows eat which give it such a rich and floral flavour. Driving on, we wound through the mountains, seeing the cattle hard at work turning grass into cheese, and ended up at our hotel - on a Golf Course! There we tucked in to a delicious meal of chicken and potatoes, anticipating another great day tomorrow. (Fingers crossed for sunshine and snow on Mount Titlis!)
