Day 4: April 14, 2025
We started the day going back into Switzerland from France (after some delicious croissants and madeleines) passing by CERN and heading to the history of science museum. First of all though, we stopped outside the UN to see how it differs from New York.
Once again, the sun shined on us all as Switzerland knew the horrible cold everyone had come from in Long Island.
We then explored all of the cool old instruments they have used over the years to further science - and some strange tools for optical illusions, some of which were better not seen...
From there we went into the city to get really close to the Jet d'eau - seeing it up close was amazing!#
Then we all went our separate ways for lunch... with many of the group going for double helpings of steak frites to celebrate an impromptu birthday for Mr Durante. Needless to say, it was some insanely good food.
We then went on a nice stroll through the city to the cathedral de st. Pierre (where Calvin did much of his preaching). Some of us went up the tower for the beautiful view of the city and the mountains.
Passing by the Old Arsenal and finishing at the Reformation wall, we now had a good understanding of the layout of the city. Everyone diving into some shopping (at last). Meeting back with trinkets, knives, souvenirs, and chocolate we headed to dinner and then hopped on the bus for Walter to take us back to France.
