Mrs. Watson's Swiss Highlights

Hallo die Schweitz! Super fast plane! Arrived half an hour early and in the glorious sunshine - really the best clothes to Switzerland in - the country really pulled out its best for our Falcons flying in from JFK! Deposited next to the river by our superb bus driver Walter, everyone navigated the perils of central Zurich - these perils mostly come in the form of a tram - and dived into our first Swiss supermarket and ambled down to the lake to have a pic-nic. We then wandered into town, with Leo giving some brief history of the reformation and significant religious figures of Zurich. We then stumbled across the Grossmunster, where Charlemagne (or Karl der Grosse) tripped with his horse over the graves of the sacred saints of Zurich, Felix & Regula, and so built this church in 1100 (to say sorry...) Taking a brief walk passed the imfamous caberet Voltaire and the house from which Lenin left to start the revolution in 1917, we wended our way up Lindenhof Hill. Everyone then went to do some well earned shopping and relaxing before collapsing onto the bus for Walter to take us to our Hotel.
