Day 11
Can’t get enough of Madrid
Day two in Madrid started early as we hopped on a comfortable bus at 8:30 am to head to Plaza de Toros to meet our guide. She was incredibly knowledgeable about Madrid and made our city tour feel like a fun history lesson on wheels.
Our next stop was the El Prado Museum, where our guide's expertise in art made the visit truly enjoyable. She had a wonderful way of explaining the paintings that even those unfamiliar with art were captivated. Personally, the works of El Greco and Goya were my favorites, but every piece in the collection was impressive.
After the museum, we had free time to explore. Some of us relaxed in Retiro Park, while others ventured into the downtown area for a culinary experience, and a few went shopping. It was the perfect break before our evening plans.
For the grand finale of our Madrid trip, we enjoyed a fantastic dinner near the Opera House, followed by an unforgettable flamenco show. Some of us even joined the performers on the dance floor, making it a night to remember! Of course, no trip to Spain is complete without churros or ice cream, so we made sure to indulge.
