Day 9 Barcelona Our Barcelona adventure was a whirlwind of architectural marvels, breathtaking views, and a taste of local life! We started the day like royalty, with exclusive early access to Park Güell. The clear skies, a welcome change after yesterday's downpour, allowed us to truly appreciate the park's beauty in its entirety. Next, we marveled at the Sagrada Familia from the outside. While both facades hold a certain charm, there was a special fondness for the intricate details of the older side. We then embarked on a scenic city tour aboard a guided bus, taking in the stunning panoramas from the heights of Montjuïc. The sweeping vistas left us breathless! Reaching the base of Montjuïc, we disembarked near the old city wall and the iconic statue of Columbus. Our group then delightfully split off into mini-adventures. Some of us dove headfirst into the charming maze-like streets of the medieval city, while others, led by our guide, made a beeline for the inviting embrace of the beach. Lunch by the seaside and a refreshing swim in the Mediterranean were the perfect way to soak up the Barcelona sunshine. Reunited, we delved back into the city to explore the magic of the labyrinthine Gothic Quarter. After a day filled with exploration, we ended on a delicious high, indulging in a traditional seafood paella. The vibrant flavors were the perfect finale to a perfect day. Taking the subway back to the hotel, we all marveled at how easy and enjoyable navigating the city had been.
