Day 6: March 11, 2025
Good evening from Switzerland! We collected our packed breakfasts and loaded our bus at 5am this morning, in order to make our way to the Gare de Lyon in time for our TGV train southwards. The 4-hour journey, travelling at up to 320 kilometers per hour, was the perfect chance to rest and admire the French and Swiss countryside. On arrival in Zurich we loaded our bus, met our driver Vio, and took a scenic walk via the Limmat river to the heart of the old town, with a chance to buy a picnic lunch and practice our German on the way. We took some free time to shop, eat and explore - with many taking a scenic walk along the banks of the lake. Dinner tonight was a buffet at a neighbouring hotel to ours, with some German and Swiss specialities on the menu. We're now enjoying our first early evening of the tour, with a chance to relax with friends at the hotel and sleep off the early start.
