Day 5: March 10, 2025
We started the day with the delicious breakfast at the hotel including mouthwatering French pastries. We then travelled by metro train into central Paris a met our guide and bus (after some delay). Janice was well worth the wait... We had the most wonderful guided tour of the city, full of Janice's warmth wit and knowledge, and surrounded by beautiful sights. We got off the bus for coffees loos and a scenic walk through the Luxembourg Gardens, and finish the tour back at the opera House. We then took a bonus tour of the fragonard perfumery to learn about the history of perfume and how it's made today, with an opportunity to buy some souvenirs too. After a break for lunch we made our way to the Eiffel tower to give everyone the chance to buy tickets to ascend - with many heading up to the very top. Dinner tonight was delicious flammekeuche - speciality of the Alsace region - and a great fun sharing meal. This evening we took a scenic river cruise on the Seine, before climbing the Trocadero to see the Eiffel tower sparkle at the stroke of 10 pm. We're now heading back to the hotel to get some sleep ahead of an early departure from Paris in the morning.
