Day 4: March 9, 2025
Bonjour from Paris! After an early wake-up, and with packed breakfasts in hand, we loaded our bus and headed to St Pancras station, ready for our Eurostar train under the English Channel to France. During the journey we travelled at up to 320 km/h, and passed through the world's longest under-sea tunnel. On arrival in France we took a bus transfer to our hotel to store our luggage, before riding the Metro - which we discovered is similar to the Tube, but with some major differences - to the centre. We enjoyed some bonus free time to soak up the sun, take a walk in the beautiful Tuileries Gardens, do some shopping, or visit a cafe, before our booking at the Louvre Museum, where we saw some splendid art including the Mona Lisa, Venus di Milo, and the Winged Victory. We took a scenic walk to dinner - on the menu tonight was delicious roast chicken with roast potatoes, followed by mouth-watering orange crêpes. After dinner we extended the day by spending some free time in the vibrant Latin Quarter before riding the Metro back to our hotel and checking-in. Night night!
