Good evening from Germany! We woke early this morning to take a long drive beyond the Swiss border. We stopped halfway for snacks and loos, before continuing our journey via Austria and into Germany. The bus ride was the perfect chance to catch up on sleep and admire the European countryside. On arrival in Hohenschwangau we were met with a beautiful town surrounded by dramatic mountains, and extremely heavy snowfall to make it all look extra beautiful. We took some free time for lunch before climbing the path to Neuschwanstein Castle - said to be the inspiration for the main feature at Walt Disney's parks. Our visit included a human guide to lead us from room to room, and an audio guide to tell us what we were seeing, and the stories of the castle's history. It was a wonderful visit! After some time to pop into the gift shop and admire the mountain views we descended back to our bus and made our way to the serene town of Oberammergau, where we spent around an hour enjoying some snacks and shopping. We then continue to drive to Munich and on arrival ate a delicious Bavarian meal of Bratwurst sausage accompanied by mashed potato and mustard. The meal was completed with the delicious miniature chocolate cake garnished with red fruits and fresh cream. After dinner we took a little time for exploring and shopping in central Munich, before making our way on one final bus ride a short op to the east side of the city - our home for the final two nights of the tour. Gute nacht!
