Day 7: June 19, 2023
Today we left Northern France and headed to Chartres- not too far away from Paris. Chartes is home to a magnificent cathedral (also know as Notre-Dame de Chartres). The cathedral contains some stunning blue stained glass windows- the colour of which it has been impossible to replicate.
After exploring the town, and getting lunch from a local boulangerie, we headed back towards Paris.
In the evening we had dinner at a restaurant called Flam’s and tried tarte flambée- a traditional dish from the Eastern part of France.
Then, to finish our time in Paris, we went in a cruise on the River Seine. The views from the river are spectacular, as was the sunset that occurred as we were finishing our cruise. We even got to see the Eiffel Tower all lit up too.
