Day 5: June 24, 2019
Our adventure started after we had breakfast at Hotel El Establo. We had one of the most important activities in our program and it was the activity of “planting a tree”. We went to a property that the Santa Elena Cloud Forest Reserve has assigned for this purpose. We planted 5 trees we hope will grow and be part of an important Biological corridor between Monteverde and the central pacific coast.
After planting the trees we went to have our visit to the Monteverde Herpetarium where the group had a guided tour and learned about reptiles. They saw turtles snakes lizards etc.
We had a visit to the town of Santa Elena were the group explored the surroundings pm their own. They did some shopping and saw the locals.
We had topical food for lunch at Sabor Tico. It was a nice time for the group to order their food and beverage in Spanish. A good way to practice their Spanish and get out of their comfort zone that way.
The afternoon was at leisure for the group to enjoy the hotel facilities.
At 6 pm we had a night walk at the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve. The group saw different creatures like snakes sloth tarantulas and many other cool things.
At 8 pm we had dinner and the rest of the night was at leisure for them to pack and rest for tomorrow’s new adventure.
It was a pura vida experience in Monteverde.
