Day 10: June 12, 2019
This morning we all got a wake up call at 6:45 (my fault!) and at 7:30 everyone was downstairs having breakfast.
We had an interesting day today. At 8:10 Goran drove us half way to the port (and I say half way because the bus was not allowed for the last 400 yards! Welcome to Italy and their rules).
We walked about 5 minutes and soon after we met Cristian, our sailor!
We all got on the boat and headed to Murano where we visited a typical glass blowing factory. It was very pretty to see how they manouver incandescent glass!
We saw how they make a flower vase and a horse.
From there, at about 10 am we got back on the boat and headed to San Marco where after a short walk we met Michele, our local guide in Venice. He showed us the Doge’s palace and from there we all had free time in Venice.
At 4:45pm we all met by the pier where were took the water taxi back to Punta Sabbioni, where our hotel is.
Goran was at the parking waiting for us. As we were boarding the bus he told me that unfortunately he would be leaving us tomorrow, it was a bit of a shock for everyone because Goran has become a great part of the team.
Today we had an early dinner and then everyone went to the beach! I went for a run towards the beach and I saw them in the water so they can now say they’ve been in the Adriatic Sea!
