Day 19: June 21, 2019
This morning we all had breakfast at 7:30 and by 8:30 we were boarding our coach that took us to Place de la Bastille to meet our Paris local guide Martin where he gave us an introduction to Paris.
While we were on the coach, Martin explained everything about the Arc de Triomphe, Champs-Élysées, the Eiffel Tower, Champ de Mars, École Militaire, Les Invalides, Place Vendôme and the Opera House.
Se also saw the Ritz hotel where Diana spend her last night. One night at the suite costs around 25.000€! We were supposed to stay there while in Paris but unfortunately they were full ;)
Martin told us how Parisians live and also explained facts about the way things are done here.
It was a very complete tour of the city! We have really made the best of it as we have been able to see the whole city with a professional guide.
The panoramic tour took us about three hours and then we all had some free time.
Most people went up the Eiffel Tower which I think is a great activity to do while in Paris, where else could you do it?!
Did you know that in hot days the Eiffel Tower is about 6 inches higher? And that at night 20,000 lightbulbs make it sparkle?
We met the rest of the group at the restaurant where we had a typical northern french dish!
From there we went back to the hotel because tomorrow we have a very early start...
