Day 2: May 26, 2025
Day number 2 was a day full of exploring the different branches of government, and some history come to life in Alexandria! Breakfast was provided by the hotel, and then we were off the the US Capitol. After a brief talk about the role of government, and the buildings of the Supreme Court and Library of Congress, the kids were let inside the Capitol for a tour. After our tour was finished, it was off to the White House, where photos were taken and fun times were had! After that, it was a stop to the Holocaust Mueseum to reflect on a time of great suffering, and to use it as a teaching tool to preach love instead of hate. Then, a quick lunch was eaten at the National Museum of the Native American, and then we zipped off to Mt. Vernon. The kids LOVED the grounds of George Washington's original home, but I do believe they got a real kick out of the gift shop. Dinner followed at a fabulous Chinese Buffet, and then we ended the day with a Ghost Tour of Old Town Alexandria and some dancing at Market Square. All in all, another fabulous day in our Nation's Capitol!!
