Good morning sunshine! Another day exploring North Portugal. Today we travelled to the historical town of Guimaraes & Braga. The first was the town where Portugal was born. A medieval city with narrow streets, a castle and very quiet atmosphere. Our local guide Carlos explained everything about it and after the break, we continued to drive towards the Sanctuary of Bom Jesus do Monte. What a view from the top of the hill! very interesting to learn about the symbolism of the stairs and its sculptures & gardens. We took a lot of pictures and headed off to Braga city, where we walked around with or guide and visited the 1st cathedral of Portugal. A well earn lunch after the cultural morning. We enjoyed a bit of free time to self explore this baroque town & its charming streets before going back to Porto. Time to pack again as tomorrow we are travelling back to Lisbon to get to know more the capital! bye bye
