Day 4: February 17, 2020
Ola! We just had another beautiful day in sunny Portugal!
Today we discover the city of Porto. We started with a morning guided tour where we visit some city landmarks such: the Cathedral, the Sao Bento Railway station, main square, city sightseeing tour around university, avenue of Boavista, the seafront Matoshinhos (we even had time to see the beach and the ocean waves!). We finished the morning with an explanation f St Francis church all decorated in gold (sorry no pictures were allowed inside!).
Lunch was delicious along the Ribeira (river front UNESCO site by the river).
In the afternoon we all joined a very relaxing boat ride along Douro river. We passed under the 6 bridges, including the famous Luiz I one (by Eiffel disciples). Still some energies left to walk along Gaia, southern suburb of the river and walk all the way up to the lookout for an amazing view! The climbing was worth it!
We crossed back to Porto via the top of the bridge and still have some more free time for self exploring beautiful streets such Flores st. What a full on day!
Local dinner was yummy too, soup, hake fish and wafle pie!
