Northern Spain Highlights

March 18, 2018  -  March 26, 2018

Hola a todos In typical cantabrian fashion we started the day with rain, but in good hopes we boarded the bus on the way to National Park. We managed to make it to the first stop at cangas de Onis where we enjoyed the views of the roman bridge but couldn’t make it to the lakes in the park due to the roads being cut off by snow!!!! Instead we headed to the coast where the weather was milder and made a couple of visits, namely Ribadesella, a fishing port famous in the whole of Spain for having housed for over 80 years the Sella’s international kayaking competition and the manufacturing of cider, and then Comillas, a rich old town and resort in Cantabria with interesting architecture from Catalan artists including Gaudí. By this time we avoided the rain for the entire day and only restarted by the time we came back to the hotel. Lucky us!!!!
