Day 11: May 3, 2019
We've had a great day in Florence, notable for it being the first day where we've been travelling entirely on foot! The hotel is so close to the city centre and Florence's sights are in such close proximity that we've been able to walk everywhere. Sadly it's also been the day where we've had most rain but I'm pleased to say that hasn't stopped anyone in the group from exploring this beautiful city!
We begin with a very nice breakfast at the hotel and then we walk to Piazza Della Signoria where we meet our tour guide, Monica. Monica takes us to see all the main sights of the city including the Palazzo Vecchio, Uffizi Gallery, Ponte Vecchio, Santa Croche Church and of course the incredible Cathedral and it's Bell Tower and Baptistry.
After the tour we go to a leather factory where the group learn about how they make authentic leather and then it's the beginning of a whole afternoon of free time. After an afternoon of more sightseeing, eating and of course some shopping we are re-united for a nice dinner near Piazza Santa Croce. After a nice meal it's a short walk back to the hotel and then we say Buona Notte!
