Day 5: April 27, 2019
Today's been another great day on tour. The group thoroughly enjoy their first French breakfast, including fresh baguettes, croissant, pain au chocolat and my personal favourite chocolate cereal 'Chocopic'! We then meet Cedric who is our bus driver for the day and he drives us into Paris where we meet Jennifer, our tour guide for the sightseeing tour of Paris and Versailles.
On the tour we see Bastille Square, The Pantheon, Luxembourg Palace, Musee D'Orsay, Opera House, Vendome Square, Arc de Triomphe, and Champs Elysees. Just like in London, Paris is experiencing protests right now, but despite the restrictions in place we manage to see lots and get around safely. We then drive out to Pari's most prestigious suburb, Versailles.
Here the group have lunch before touring the famous palace and its gardens. A few hours later and we are back on the bus and returning to Paris for our cruise of the river Seine. It's a lovely experience and a definite highlight of the trip so far. We make our way on the metro for dinner and then some of the group go up the Montparnasse Tower, others to Moulin Rouge and the rest head back to the hotel.
