Day 8: April 30, 2019
It's been yet another near-perfect day on tour. We're once again treated to blue sky and sunshine when we wake up and by the end of the day many of the group had dipped their toes in the Mediterranean sea! We begin with breakfast of course and then leave Nimes as we head towards Italy via two days on the Cote d'Azur.
En route we stop for a couple of hours in Aix-en-Provence, the regions capital. It's arguably the best city in France to experience one of the great European traditions - the street market. We head to the cities food market and the group enjoy sampling the fruits, cheeses and many other local products on offer. We then head back on the bus and travel to Eze.
Here the group have a guided visit of the Fragonard factory where they learn about one of France's great exports, perfume. Most of the group then walk to the top of the hilltop village of Eze for stunning views of the Mediterranean. We then travel on the coastal road along to Nice for a walk along the promenade des Anglais before dinner in the historic centre, and then it's off to check in to the hotel.
