Day 4: April 26, 2019
I'm pleased to report that the group have today arrived safe and sound to country number two of the trip, France, and specifically its capital city, Paris. It's an early start this morning and a take away breakfast as we are transferred to St Pancras International. This is one of the world's most beautiful train stations and from here we board the high speed Eurostar train through the channel tunnel to Paris.
We arrive in less than two and a half hours and go straight to our hotel. It's too early to check in so we just drop our luggage and then head on the Metro into the city. Our first stop is Trocadero for some great views of the Eiffel Tower and the plan was to go to the top of the tower too but the lines are extremely long so instead we just spend some time at the bottom marvelling at the famous monument.
We then head over to the Latin Quarter for dinner and afterwards take a stroll along the river, starting with the Ille de la Cite for views of the recently burnt, but still standing Notre Dame cathedral. We continue our walk until we get to the worlds largest art museum, The Louvre. The group enjoy the evening looking at the many masterpieces on display before returning to the hotel.
