Day 5: May 31, 2019
Today was a busy day. In the morning the local guide Grethe took us on a tour around Copenhagen. We've seen old Royal palace that burnt down once or twice, ended up housing The Parliament. We've seen the Changing of the Guards in front of Amelienborg - Grethe lamented they aren't as handsome anymore, as the Danes don't discriminate and take any soldier - it's not their fault they were born short and ugly. You can't visit Copenhagen without taking a selfie with a Little Mermaid! Roskilde, the first Danish capital followed, with lovely lake where the studious went to the Viking Ship museum while others admired the jellyfish and were catching sunshine. On our way back, we stopped at the Roskilde cathedral that is athe resting place of Danish kings and queens - current 79 year old Queen Margrethe is already having a tomb being prepared for her. Somehow, high-tech train toilet got the most applause. We made it back to Copenhagen in time for some shopping on the Stroget, and ended a glorious sunny day with a delicious dinner of Skagen, Moose steak with chantarelles mushrooms and a traditional Danish rice pudding.
