Day 4: June 26, 2025
Tour Diary – June 26th, 2025
From London to Paris: A Day of Travel and First Impressions
Today began bright and early as we departed London and embarked on our journey to Paris! The students experienced the Eurostar train for the first time, travelling under the English Channel — a thrilling and memorable part of the trip for many. It was quite an experience zooming from the heart of London to the centre of Paris in just a few hours.
Once we arrived, we made a quick stop at the hotel to freshen up, and then headed straight out to explore one of the most atmospheric parts of the city — the Latin Quarter and the historic islands of the Seine.
We began with a guided stroll around Île de la Cité, discovering the breathtaking Notre-Dame Cathedral — currently under restoration but still awe-inspiring. Students were fascinated to learn about its architecture, its history, and the fire that led to its ongoing transformation. We then continued to the charming Île Saint-Louis, with its elegant streets and quiet beauty, a favourite for many in the group.
As we entered the Latin Quarter, the mood shifted to something livelier — narrow medieval streets, bookshops, and bustling cafés set the scene. Some students were even spooked (in the fun way!) by stories of medieval Paris and the secret corners of the quartier.
We wrapped up our first evening with a delicious group dinner in a very traditional Parisian restaurant, full of old-world charm. The place was warm, welcoming, and tucked away in a picturesque street — the kind of spot where locals still linger over long meals. We even learned that the restaurant has welcomed many French and international celebrities over the years, adding a touch of glamour to our first Parisian night!
After dinner, we returned to the hotel for our official check-in, and everyone was more than ready for a well-deserved night of rest after such a rich and exciting day.
More Paris adventures await tomorrow!
Warm wishes,
